Hi! I’m glad you’re here. My name is Elizabeth Buford

ree

The goal for my blog is to just enjoy and be me in hopes to inspire others to not only embrace their creative side but to also live authentically and boldly. What does that mean? Stay true to you. Dare yourself to grow in ways you think might be difficult. And pursue things that make you feel whole. Another goal for this space is to show the beauty in life and motherhood while sometimes admitting that things can be difficult. And that’s okay.

There will be a range of content for you to explore along the way. Some things you might find here include:

Homeschool

Photography

Cooking

Crochet

Macrame

Watercolor

Travel

& more!

A little bit about me and my family:

I’m a wife to the most patient and loving husband, Bradley. A mom to our son who loves so big and is so energetic, Beckett. And also a mom to our daughter who is so gentle but knows how to use her voice, Harper. Lastly, a dog mom! We have two dogs. Our seven year old German Shepherd, Karl. He absolutely loves to run and play fetch. And then there’s Sophie. She’s a Golden Retriever mix we rescued. She is feisty but behind her big bark is a dog who just wants you to give her a belly rub. We love our little family.

Me and Bradley have been together since 2010. I was fifteen and he was sixteen! We met when we were in high school. Both born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He joined the Army in 2015. Then, in 2016 we got married. His first duty station was Vicenza, Italy. A week after we got married, he flew over to start work. As for me, I was going to school in Arkansas at the time. I went back to finish my semester and to complete the Army process of me moving overseas and joining Bradley. It took six months overall for things to be finalized. Finally, I joined him March of 2017 – what a reunion! During our two and a half years of living in Italy, we took full advantage and travelled all over Europe while also gaining our first family member – Karl!

We moved back to the states in 2019 to North Carolina. This is where Sophie came into the picture, where we faced our first deployment and where our babies were born. Like a rollercoaster, there were many ups and downs while living in NC. But that’s life! We learned a lot there. Truthfully, we learn something at every duty station.

Currently, we live in Missouri with our next move being Kansas. We’re looking forward to making new memories and overcoming any obstacles that we face.

When I’m not crafting, painting or writing, I love to read and play video games (huge Legend of Zelda fan over here!!) and occasionally build Lego sets. I enjoy these things alone but what makes it more special is that I can share these moments with my husband. Our time spent together is special; we don’t take it for granted or lightly. One of our favorite past times is competing against each other in Mario Kart or Mario Party. The sad part? We take it very seriously.

Other fun facts:

On most days you can catch me on my third cup of coffee. How do I take it? Black.

Favorite color? Orange.

Oh yeah, I’m obsessed with fall & trees.

My phone has over 16,000 photos.

Dark & rainy days make me happier than the sunny ones.

Sometimes I bake sourdough. Other times my starter stays in the fridge because life happens.

My guilty pleasure is burgers & beer.

Annnnd I’m a night owl + a morning person. How is this possible? Caffeine.

I initially started my website and blog to gear it toward an author platform. Last year I wrote my first draft ending at 50,000 words. Since then I have been fleshing out the second draft to add more meat to the bone. Recently, I have felt the story needs some reframe and a new outline. More on that in the future! While becoming an author is still my highest personal goal, raising my kids and homeschooling them is the priority right now. I still wanted to use this platform as a creative outlet for myself and to update on my writing whenever I see fit.

Aside from writing, watercolor painting has been a big part of my life recently. I started consistently painting last summer (2024) after several attempts since 2015. My insecurities were loud when it came to my art. But then, it clicked – I didn’t care anymore. I embraced my mistakes and learned how to be confident throughout the process and with my art. I would be lying to you, though if I said I never got insecure. With each painting I make, I always think at a certain point, “wow, this sucks”. I have a long way to go with my watercolors but for now, I’m happy to be trying and sharing it with others. If you have the desire to do something but are afraid of what others might think (or yourself), I say do it anyway! It’s true what they say – you are your own worst critic. Go for it!

With all of that being said, I have an Etsy business where I can list my handcrafted items.

Here is the link:

At this time, I have only digital downloadable watercolors for sell. Just as life ebbs and flows, so does my creativity. So, my Etsy reflects that.

Thanks for going on this journey with me. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I do writing, creating and posting!

Cheers!

Elizabeth M Buford
